Introduction

Introduction

Hello, my name is Stephanie Rosario Garrido. I am student of Natural Sciences with major in Chemistry at the University of Puerto Rico at Cayey. I created this blog as part of an assignment in my English class. Basically, I have to share information about the field that I am studying. So, I am very happy to share information about what is chemistry, why is important have knowledge about chemistry, latest news and others.

Chemistry Around Us is the title of this blog and I named like that because I am member of the American Chemistry Society and as members we say: “Chemistry is not limited to beakers and laboratories. It is all around us, and the better we know chemistry, the better we know our world.”-ACS

I want to add to the quote that chemistry is not only about the elements or the periodic table. Everything around us including ourselves involves chemistry. Even our five senses that are to hear, see, taste, and touch all involve a series of chemical reactions into our bodies. For that reason it is essential to know about chemistry and with this way we can understand how works our body and the world around us. My purpose with this blog is not only share information that you cannot understand or you do not like it or bores you. I want to catch your attention even the chemistry does not like or if you like it I want you to reflect about the news and share it with your social cycle. At the end, you will able to understand better all that the chemistry implies and as I said before if you know about chemistry, then the better you know about the world in where you live.

Now, I invite you to see the video or go to the web page in the section references. If you have information to share or questions, let me know!! To me is important be in contact and share knowledge to maintain the world informed.

Thank you very much, see you next week!!
